Screech and Loud noises

They say that babies come with a fear of loud noises right? Well even as an adult we can fear them.

On Monday as I was driving to work, I was talking to Mom on the phone and I literally hit a traffic buildup around Lehi. Everyone had to slow down really fast, and I wasn't the fastest, so I ended up hitting the car in front of me. Here are some pictures.

So my car needs some help, but their car looks pretty okay. I mostly went under the bumper, so my bumper actually is in pretty good shape.

I went and got some parts yesterday. It was raining, so I spent most of the day standing in the rain working on cars. I pulled parts off the other cars and put some on mine. It really wouldn't have taken as long as I spent on it, but I was trying to find good-looking replacements. I also took the opportunity to get a door handle and a window regulator that I had been needing. Now I feel pretty comfortable taking fenders and hoods off, so if any of you want a replacement....
Next up is the paint job/body work.
When I was at Vera Lyn and Scott's it was cloudy and dark and they both commented that they though my car looked rather patriotic.I was looking for a different color hood, but red was in the best shape.

On a calmer note, I started work (on monday after the accident) at a place called Capshare. We sell software as a service (SaaS). Our software helps private companies manage their capitalization tables or cap tables. This is just a record that shows who owns how much of the company and how they own it. I have been learning a ton this week about private company financials and cap table related stuff. It is fun and interesting. I mostly wanted to work at this company because I wanted to get a feel for the "start-up" atmosphere. We are a small company of about 12 people, and we have been around for about 3-4 years... I will be doing sales mostly which is also a good thing since it will be good to get experience with sales for when I start a company of my own.

At work we regularly have nerf gun wars, and it is a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Not like a corporate setting, but there is still work to be done.

I recently went to Star Valley, and I picked rocks for a couple of days. In the pictures below you can see my Star Valley haircut and facial hair. The other picture is a blood blister I got from smashing my thumb between two rocks. I also have spent some time with Vera Lyn and Scott. I stayed with the kids for a weekend while they went on an anniversary trip to San Francisco (or for those who get tired saying the whole thing, "San Fran" is also accepted)

I also got to spend an evening with Joseph, Eliza, and three of Eliza's brothers. I really enjoyed dinner and some minute to win it games.
